START Course

START Group is a three-month long workshop for people without experience in contemporary dance, preparing for further work in permanent groups of Adepts of Krakow Dance Theatre.

The key assumptions of working in groups at KDT are programming and laboratory character of the process, in which uncompromising emphasis is placed on systematics, also autoanalysis, individual stimulation of progress. The dancer's hygiene, punctuality and deepening of concentration are also important. Lessons, although they generally constitute separate wholes, represent a programmed developmental path. It is not possible/not allowed to use such a composed program selectively. Hence the closed character of permanent groups with a minimal rotation of participants and the educational process spread over specific levels of advancement. The START group is the first level of education in the system created by the KDT.
